DESCRIPTION:More information and cost coming soon! \nAbout Mounted Games: Mounted Games were originally the idea of His Royal Highness\, Prince Philip\, as a way to encourage enthusiasm\, participation\, and training in younger riders without the need of expensive ponies.  A natural draw to all levels of riding abilities\, Games provide a fun sport that teaches the basic natural aids\, physical coordination\, self-confidence\, and teamwork skills.  It also fosters sportsmanship and the proper care of mounts in new and younger members. \nAbout Games Competition: Mounted Games competitions are comprised of several relay-style races requiring riders to pick up objects from the ground while remaining in the saddle\, weave through a series of poles at high speeds\, hand items off to teammates without slowing their ponies\, and dunking objects into buckets (sometimes at a gallop!).  Teams are made up of two to five riders of the same skill level. Ponies are the preferred mount of choice for games as their shorter stature make several of the races much easier to play.  Horses can be used but are much harder for riders to reach the ground from while remaining in the saddle and can be more difficult to mount/dismount at faster paces than a walk or standstill. Riders of any skill level and ability can compete in Mounted Games\, with beginners usually competing at the Walk-Trot level before moving on into the Junior\, Senior\, and Advanced ranks.  The levels are divided based on the ages of the riders\, with the exception of Walk-Trot in which any member of any age can compete.

SUMMARY:Stick Horse Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Stick Horse Rally will be held at Sandia Creek Ranch in Fallbrook 9:30am-2:30pm. Lunch will be picnic style so bring your own and a lawn chair. Cost $25 for Pony Club members and $35 for non-Pony Club members. \nThis rally is known as a “horseless” rally. The “Everything But The Horse” (EBTH) rally is meant to give members a chance to experience a Pony Club rally\, but without the pressure of preparing a horse. It is conducted like a regular competition where members set up a tack room and stalls\, and are judged on their Horse Management skills. It is geared towards new members and younger members of Pony Club who either do not have a horse or have never experienced a rally. EBTH rallies are not offered at Championships.

SUMMARY:PONY CLUB Quiz Rally
DESCRIPTION:The 2020 Quiz Rally will be held at the International Equestrian Center in Ramona\, CA. Registration opens at 8:30am. The volunteer and chaperone meeting will be at 9:00am and Rally Meeting will be at 9:30. Competition will begin promptly at 10:00am. Awards will follow the final phase. Each team needs two parent volunteers. Pack your own lunch and snacks. Bring a lawn chair. Entries must be turned into Candice by January 15th. \nAbout Quiz: The mission of Quiz is to promote a deep understanding and familiarity with the material presented at each certification level. Quiz is a fundamental and creative learning tool. Many aspects of Pony Club mounted rallies can be learned at the Quiz Rally. This rally\, besides challenging Pony Club members to learn horsemanship and horse care\, provides them with opportunities to display and learn good sportsmanship\, leadership\, stewardship\, and teamwork as they prepare thoroughly\, plan and cooperate with their teammates\, and take winning or losing in stride. \nAbout Quiz Competition: In an effort to make Quiz more interactive and therefore more fun\, there are five phases. These are Classroom\, Stations\, Mega Room\, Barn\, and Written Test. In the Classroom phase\, members are asked individual questions which they must answer orally in a specific amount of time. During the Stations phase\, teams move through a variety of ‘stations’ and answer questions at those stations as a team. The stations may be written\, hands-on\, or even games. Teams then move on to the Barn phase\, which is presented in a barn\, or barn-like\, setting. Members must be able to demonstrate something and many questions are hands-on. Each member is given an individual question before the team as a whole is given one. The final phase of Quiz is the Written Test. This is an individual\, multiple choice test each team member must complete. They are specific to the member’s certification and include a tie-breaker question at the end.
